About the Awards

The Bestseller Awards use book sales data to identify and celebrate the UK’s bestselling books. The awards recognise all book sales as they cross the key milestones: Silver status is awarded to books selling over 250,000 copies, Gold status is awarded to those selling over 500,000 copies, and Platinum status is awarded to those selling over 1,000,000 copies.

The only book awards in the UK that are determined according to sales metrics alone, The Bestseller Awards officially recognise the UK’s bestselling books and confer a unique status onto each winning title.

Fast becoming the recognised standard for success amongst leading authors, publishers, and consumers, The Bestseller Awards are presented throughout the year, culminating in a star-studded annual ceremony held in central London.

Previous winners have included Richard Osman, Jamie Oliver, JoJo Moyes, Jacqueline Wilson, and Jeff Kinney, and the ceremony serves as a unique, celebratory evening for authors, publishers, and ultimately, readers.

The Awards are powered by Nielsen BookScan – the world's leading authority on official book sales data – and have partnered with BolognaBookPlus, a leading advocate of authors, rights, and creativity, and Agile Ideas.

The Bestsellers Awards 2023

We are thrilled to announce the first in-person Bestseller Awards ceremony in three years, which will be held in the prestigious Ham Yard Hotel in Piccadilly on Saturday 20th January.

In partnership with Bologna Books Plus and Agile Ideas, this award ceremony will, as ever, aim to recognise the incredible achievement of outstanding sales in the UK, and the tremendous accolades for all those authors who have achieved sales of over 250,000.
